Jon worked for inner-city non-profits, raised 100% of his revenue as a missionary, helped plant a church, and worked in all sizes of non-profits. He received his professional Coaching Certification from the founder of the Sylvan Learning Centers.


With experience coaching executive directors, boards, and leadership teams, Jon brings a values-based, servant-leadership approach that meets leaders where they are. They work with coaches because even at their best they know a coach can maximize their time and potential. Jon Rector had a coach when he was an Executive Director and continues to have a coach. We practice what we preach! 


A coach focuses on helping you walk your unique path to success. As the client, you are

responsible for the results you receive as a result of coaching. We help you discover how

to become more of who you need to be to achieve those results and identify what you

may need to do differently. A consultant takes responsibility for a specific project, acting

as a specialist*, providing specific deliverables and knowledge. I believe in your ability to

fully experience your potential and will provide a safe, consistent space for you to

develop your potential. *Jon Rector does offer some non-profit consulting, but that is a separate service. 


It is important to me that you have clarity about the difference between coaching and other types of professional services such as therapy or counseling, consulting and mentoring. Coaching focuses on where you are presently and where you are headed, with a goal of helping you gain clarity about your vision, eliminate obstacles to your success, accelerate the pace of personal growth and achieve results that empower you to live your best life – professionally and personally. We can focus on any area of your life: Relationships, Finances, Spiritual Life, Work and Business, or Physical Health and Environments. While coaching is forward-focused, counseling tends to deal more with past issues in which you may find yourself stuck and struggling. We may occasionally discuss something that has occurred in the past, for the purpose of clarifying the present, but your coaching will not focus on resolving the past.


As coaches, we focus on the development of people in general, and the development of your unique path in particular. A mentor guides you towards a specific path of development. We are more interested in helping you onto to the unique and divinely-ordained path that is meant for you – which may be quite different than the path we have taken, even though the purpose of our paths may be very similar. Our job as your coach is not to tell you what to do, but rather to help you uncover the answers that lie within you. Consider us a catalyst for your success. We recommend you have an abundance of wise mentors, but a Professional Coach has specific training and tools to help you holistically get better.


Rector Leadership desires to to empower you to see long-term lasting results for positive change. Just like hiring a personal trainer, you may see some results after the first few sessions but the goal is lasting transformation. The results you get from coaching depends on your unique goals and commitment to growth. 


Our Professional Coaching is tailored to fit your schedule and not overwhelm you. Our clients range on commitments based on their needs. We offer a variety of custom packages to maximize your investment and your time. Each session typically takes about 30 minutes to an hour. We recommend clients to have a minimum of 4 to 6 sessions to see results, but many of our clients work with us on an annual basis. Again, it all depends on your goals and vision of success. We offer a free session for you to explore our coaching services. 


Our pricing factors in many things: Experience, education, location, and length of services. In 2025, the national average for hiring a professional coach ranges from $200-$800 per session! At Rector Leadership, we do our best to meet your budget while honoring the value that we bring. Our coaching starts at $149 per session, and we offer additional customized packages to best meet your needs. Our goal is to help you see real results and 5X-10X your investment!
