Did you go to school only to realize you weren't fully trained or prepared for work? I remember getting my first full-time sales management job at 18 years old, and I didn't have a clue on how to be a leader. I knew how to sell but not manage a team. I quickly adapted and learned from others who were successful and piece by piece began to perform well. Even when I went into ministry and ran a non-profit organization, there was no class on leadership. I became obsessed with becoming a high-performing leader and quickly realized that leadership is more than being in-charge. Leadership is influence, and the influence we have can be used for good or for bad.
I went back to college and studied Leadership and Management, invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in professional credentialing, and continue to lead in the nonprofit sector applying the lessons I've learned. For the past 20+ years, I've led in sales and nonprofit organizations where I had to maximize every dollar and lead through others.

Jon Rector earned his credentials as a Certified Executive Leadership Coach and Professional Coach at the Fowler School of Business and Executive Coaching. Berry Fowler is the founder of Sylvan Learning Centers which he grew from a concept to the nation’s leading provider of supplemental education to school-age children. Since then Sylvan has helped over 4,000,000 students to achieve success. In 2008, Berry Fowler started his Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching and in 2012 the Fowler School of Business and Executive Coaching.
Jon Rector is currently finishing his master's degree in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary. Jon has three years prior of seminary education before going to DTS. Jon is highly motivated by his faith which is where he learned the foundation of leadership principles. Jon serves a wide range of clients with various faith backgrounds, but this degree maximizes practical leadership principles and theological studies to help executive leadership coaching.
Jon graduated from Lincoln Christian University with a Bachelor's degree in Leadership and Management. This degree is similar to a business management degree with leadership and theology classes. Jon's major takeaways from this degree was learning the soft skills of executive leadership coaching, leadership training, and the importance of organizational systems
Jon Rector is recognized minister and chaplain with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) where he serves as an Area Director in Austin, TX. Jon is passionate about helping people know and grow in their faith with Jesus Christ, and live with purpose. Jon started Rector Leadership to offer professional executive leadership coaching and training to leaders in the workforce.
